Mauna Kea Real Estate Market Update Q2 2016

Mauna Kea Resort is a beautiful 1,839 acre resort located on the West Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. This Kohala Coast resort contains two world class hotels, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.  These hotels are located along some of the most pristine white sand beaches in all of Hawaii. The luxurious homes located in Mauna Kea Resort are second to none, with everything from private oceanfront homes to condos with sweeping ocean views. 

The Mauna Kea Resort also offers its resident’s access to two Championship Golf Courses, the Seaside Tennis Club, a Fitness Center, and theMauna Kea Spa. Some of the many restaurants include Number 3, the Hua TreeLanai, the Copper Terrace, Clambake and the Manta & Pavilion Wine Bar.

At the time of this writing (July 30th), there were 14 homes and 25 condos for sale in the Mauna Kea Resort. Of the homes for sale, the highest priced one is listed at $15,750,000, and is located at 62-3680 Kiekiena Pl, in the Bluffs at Mauna Kea subdivision, while the highest priced condo on the market is listed at $4,900,000 and is Unit #29 in the Villas of Mauna Kea. At the other end of the spectrum, the lowest priced home on the market is located at 62-4011 Moani Pikake Pl, in The Uplands of Mauna Kea and is listed at $1,595,000. The lowest priced condo currently on the market is listed at $775,000 and is Unit I1 located in Kumulani at the Uplands at Mauna Kea.

Sales continue to be slow in the Mauna Kea Resort, with only one home being sold in the 2nd Quarter, down from 2 homes sold in the 1st Quarter, and the number of condos sold decreasing from 4 condos to 3. Since there was only one home sold in this time from April 2016 through June 2016 the highest priced home sold and the lowest priced home sold, was the same home. It is located at 62-3572 Emoloa Way in the Uplands at Mauna Kea and sold for $1,690,000 from a listed price of $1,895,000. In the condo market, the highest priced condo to sell during the 2nd Quarter went for $2,850,000 and is located at #7A in the Halia Hale at Kaunaoa, while the lowest priced condo sold is located at #F202 at Waiulaula at Mauna Kea, and it sold for $1,150,000.
